What do you guys think of a Banking and Finances board? Under this topic, people could create threads about SSI, investing, saving, banking, opening a new bank account, using secure sites such as Paypal or ClickBank, and so on. Or do you think such matters belong under Daily Living?
I think it would be a good idea. In fact, I think it would be good if daily living could be categorized into things like this. Banking, cooking, clothing, mobility, all that kind of stuff.
Wow, I never thought of that! That's an even better idea. Subcategories would make it more organized, and easier to search or browse for things under that topic.

Super idea. Actually, both of them were great ideas so I second, or actually, third them both.
I was thinking this and a lot recently too. I couldn't figure out wear to post things and just had to in a larger more general cattagory.

I like the suggestion, but if we split the daily living board into subcategories, what's stopping other boards from being divided into subcategories as well? I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad idea, it would make the boards a lot more organized and searchable, I'm just pointing out the magnitude of a project like that, one which the staff might not take on.
yeah, the CL's would have to move all the topics, looking at them to see where something should go and that is a lot of work for a site like this. I like the idea yes but think it'd be more pain than it's worth to set up.
I think several quick searches would bring up most of the threads that belong under a certain category.
Also, the Safe Haven board has already set a precedent for subcategories, so it's not like the Daily Living board would be the first.
If I become a CL, i'd be willing to take that project on in my free time.

No, it certainly wouldn't. I forgot that applications had just gone in. I hope this is implemented.
I'm most certanly on board with this suggestion as well.
I'm on board with it, but before the CL's could start moving things, the admins would have to make the coding changes to the site to make those subcategories in the first place. That's where the problem is going to be. The new CL may have time to move everything once that's implemented, but will the admins have time or inclination to make the changes to the site? I'm not shooting down the suggestion itself, just trying to say it may not actually happen.

that's true, moving the actual topics i don't think would be hard just time consuming. getting the board created though, that could bhe challenge. I too would help move topics i spotted if i become a CL
